"City Spotlight on Greensboro"
Featured Speaker:
Nathaniel Trey Davis
Greensboro City Manager

Nathaniel “Trey” Davis assumed the role of Greensboro
City Manager on October 4, 2024. Mr. Davis’ career in
public administration dates back to 1996, beginning in law
enforcement, serving in progressive leadership roles over the
years. Davis was appointed as Assistant City Manager of Public Safety,
in 2019. In this capacity he established the foundation for the
Community Safety Department and shaped innovative public
safety policies.
Davis’ leadership, commitment, and dedication to public
administration is evident in all he sets out to accomplish. Davis
is focused on improving Greensboro’s landscape in the areas of
housing, safety, and intentional growth, while relying on input
from the community.
He introduced the ‘Road to 10K’ housing initiative in 2025
aimed at adding 10,000 homes to Greensboro’s housing stock
by 2030. The plan calls for diverse housing types, representing
all income levels. Additionally, the City is investing $11 million
to convert City-owned property in to permanent supportive
housing.
Davis will guide Greensboro’s future expansion based
on successfully managing three key areas: Public Safety,
Infrastructure and Economic Development.
This will require collaboration and coordination amongst
all City departments in addition to leveraging support from
community stakeholders. Increasing funds for enhanced
infrastructure operations is vital to meet the needs of existing
and new industries. The commitment to attract corporations,
while supporting local businesses remains a priority for the
continued stability of the local economy.
Davis practices active listening to promote opportunity for all
Greensboro residents.
